Why I Decided to Build a Reddit Marketing Tool?

Last year, when we were building AI-to-consumer applications, we faced one core challenge: how to acquire users at a low cost. We tested TikTok and YouTube, but the cost per user was still high. Eventually, we discovered that Reddit could bring surprisingly good results, but not without a lot of painful trial and error.
So we decided to study Reddit seriously. I spent two months experimenting every day, and eventually patterns started to appear. Some posts brought in hundreds of UVs, and we gradually built several strong accounts with solid engagement.
For Reddit beginners, here are a few practical insights that helped us understand how this community really works.
First, you need to identify the right subreddits. A subreddit is essentially a niche forum. You need to find the ones that are highly relevant to your product. Then read dozens of posts inside each one. Pay attention to the posting style, the content format, whether links are allowed, whether links perform better in the post or in the comments, and every single rule listed on the subreddit page. I will share a more detailed framework for subreddit selection in a future article.
Second, before posting, you must study the sub carefully. Read its rules and analyze the newest and hottest posts. Sometimes the rules say “No X,” but you will still see similar content allowed, which means there is room to operate. This process takes time, so start with one or two subreddits and master them first. When writing posts, follow the style of the top posts from the past week. And do not use AI-generated writing — Reddit users can recognize it instantly.
Third is the account issue. If you only have one Reddit account, I do not recommend using it to post right away. If it gets banned, the loss is painful. It’s better to prepare multiple accounts and use new ones for testing. That way, even if one account has issues, it won’t affect your overall strategy.
Now, back to the main point.
For early-stage startups and indie developers, Reddit is one of the best low-cost acquisition channels, especially in the AI, SaaS, and cross-border e-commerce space. But Reddit has a steep learning curve. Every step requires time — researching, posting, testing, and managing accounts. And the account safety challenge has never had a good solution.
We realized many of these tasks are repetitive and can be automated with AI. So we decided to turn our experience into a product, helping people who want to grow on Reddit but don’t have the time or expertise to figure it all out.
Our product, Leadmore AI, is now live. In just three months, it has acquired thousands of paying users. I will write another blog post about what I learned during this journey and the mistakes I made along the way.
In the coming weeks, I will also publish 30 articles covering the core logic and practical operations of Reddit growth — how to find subreddits, how to study posts, how to create content, Reddit distribution strategy, browsing logic, AI workflows, cross-border strategies, and more.
If you are working on Reddit marketing, I encourage you to try Leadmore AI. I am confident it’s the best Reddit marketing tool available today.
